I loved reading Roald Dahl when I was younger and you have inspired me to start re-reading some of his books again. I read Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone when I was younger, but I never really got into the series I have to say! 😯 But I would like to try them again at some point.
Far from the Madding Crowd by Thomas Hardy was a favourite of mine this January and the Heartland series by Lauren Brooke which I also read. Happy reading! 😊
Oh I wish I’d seen this comment yesterday - I was at my boyfriend’s parents’ and his dad showed me his copy of Far from the Madding Crowd that he’d used when he studied it at O Level!!! I’ll try and take a picture for you next time I go!
I’m reading the second HP book now and I’m much more “into it”, so maybe the writing improves throughout the series. It’s definitely worth giving it a go, there are tonnes of second hand copies around!
Ah, that’s so cool! I did so enjoy reading it this January. 🥰 Yes, I remember I did try book two of Harry Potter, but I never got round to finishing it. I will definitely be giving the books another go at some point as they are always talked about! 😊
Childhood magic!!! I love that!! I did a children's literature course at uni and it was the only one I liked. So many good books that just collected dust in my memory. I was always obsessed with child detectives like Nancy Drew and the Famous Five.
Sooo interested to read what you thought about Talking at Night - I keep picking it up in Waterstones but am never compelled to actually buy it, I think I just really like the cover lol
Omg I bet that course was so interesting! I wouldn’t be such an avid reader now if it weren’t for amazing children’s literature and great YA novels.
Being compelled by the Talking at Night cover is so real 😭 I kept picking it up too then it was on a 99p deal on Kindle months ago and was sat waiting to be read for aaaages. Honestly you’re not missing much lol
