I am so happy to learn you've adapted to a life without amazon so well and quickly. It gives reason to hope more people will try going amazon-free and discover along the way it's still possible. ☺️ I've always resisted amazon because they've tried right from the start to subvert the fixed book prices in Germany and I consider anything that threatens the book trade and the small book shop system a personal attack. 😅 Though last year, I sadly had to create an amazon account because one book was only available from there...
Thank you Frieda! Life has certainly been more enjoyable without it. I do hate the monopoly they're starting to get though, like you say with books or "Amazon exclusives" - yuck
I love the idea of setting what I see to be like a fun, unique goal for yourself!! 💛 And I agree with you, I also try to think through my purchases and generally, the purchases that aren't made on a whim end up being so much more intentional and useful in my life...not to mention the joy of getting a little gift for yourself that you've wanted for a long time 🥹
It makes the pressure of a “New Year’s resolution” actually enjoyable rather than a slog!! Completely agree with you about purchases feeling more rewarding, and I’ve come to love saving more money as a result too.
